William Todd Youngs, Age 66 of Springfield, MA was called safely home on April 15, 2018. Angels were sent to wrap their wings around WIlliam and ended his many years of struggle with several types of Cancer. Willam (Willy, Bill/Skipper) was born in Ludlow, MA on October 11, 1951 to Albert C. and Dorothy (Lasinski) Youngs. He graduated from trade school electrical course, in 1968 and STCC. William was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S Navy taking his training in Pensacola, FL. He was stationed in Edzell, Scotland as a Communication Radio Code operator. He also worked at Conrail, Springfield Civic Center and the Springfield Bulk Mail Center for 31 years, from which he retired in 2009. While in Scotland he purchased a Volkswagen, his orange pumpkin and traveled to England, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain, enjoying all the beauty of those countries. William appreciated beauty of all kinds, the ocean, especially Misquamicut, RI and Anna Marie Island, FL, along with the sunsets. He spent many hours gardening along with fishing. He had a flair for the arts and decorating. During his youth he participated in baseball, hockey, boyscouts and chorus music. After retiring due to his illness, he spent many hours on the computer and connected with prominent singers and musicians which led him to become a harmonica and guitar player. This love of music led him to build a recording studio where he wrote several songs and recordings which helped keep him stay alive during his cancer years. William was an inspiration and friend to all who knew him. He was a quiet person but his dry sense of humor made people laugh. He will be remembered for his brave fight to survive his years of cancer. William was predeceased by his father, Albert C. Youngs in 1999 who left him a legacy of being aware of the world we live in and our love of our country. William leaves his beloved mother, Dorothy, who sustained him through his long illness. William leaves his wife Gail (Konovelchick) of Wilbraham and his beloved two daughters, Jenny Youngs and Marcie (Youngs) Brunelle. Along with his son in law Jason Brunelle. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren, Cody, Kyle and Joshua Brunelle, Ethan and Aidan Colon and Lea Avezzie. He also leaves his five siblings, Judy Kennedy (Lyle), Wendy Chase (Roland), Susan Bussing (Clarence), Elaine Casey and Timothy Youngs (Christine). He leaves his nephews and nieces along with many cousins. He also leaves behind with love and memories his close musical friends and his special angels who made his life worth living with their extra friendship and compassion. William was deeply loved and will be missed by many and his memory will always be carried in our hearts.
