Donnie Lester Griffin, Sr., 74, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Griffin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at Lenox Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Landon Alberson will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, April 13, 2018, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Cody Cottle, Caleb Parker, Sam Cottle, Bobby Conway, Larry Durden and Wendell Freeman will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 15, 1944 in Cook County, Mr. Griffin was the son of the late Junior Allen Griffin and Nellie Mae Baker Griffin. He was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Kyle Cottle; and one son, Victor Parker. He was a car salesman and of the Baptist faith. He loved his grandchildren; hunting and fishing and NASCAR.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Carolyn Griffin of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donnie Lester Jr. and Lisa Griffin and Rodney Parker, all of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Denise Barber of Tifton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Jane “Dolly” and Wendell Freeman of Milledgeville and Mary Jo “Suzie” and Bob Dragon of Kentucky; and five grandchildren, Cassie Hayes, Cody Cottle, Sam Cottle, Caleb Parker and Tessa Griffin; and many nieces and nephews.
