Thomas Mathew Fussell, 86, of Macon, Georgia, died Monday, April 9, 2018, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Fussell Cemetery, in Ben Hill County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, in the Charles H. Jones Chapel at Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, in Macon, Georgia.
Mr. Fussell was born June 13, 1931, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Hallie & Geneva Fussell. Mr. Fussell served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a supervisor for Inland Container and retired after 42 years of service. Mr. Fussell also worked in the fishing department at Bass Pro Shops in Macon. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandkids. He was a member and Past Master of Lizella Lodge #663, F.&A.M., a member of the Valley of Macon Scottish Rite, and a member of Al Sihah Shrine. Mr. Fussell was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Fussell & Laura of Forsyth; two daughters: Amanda Shields of Hawkinsville and Michelle Fussell of Macon; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
