Obituary

Rose Marie Cornetta 86, of Franklin, died Monday April 9, 2018 at Milford Regional Medical Center, following an illness.

Born January 2, 1932 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Louis and Lucia (Lamagna) Cornetta, she was a lifelong Franklin resident and lived on East Central Street, her whole life.

She was educated in Franklin schools and was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1949. Rose was a clerk at the Franklin Mill Store for over 20 years before retiring.

She was a very talented sewer and craftsperson, she could make just about anything. Rose enjoyed visiting with family & friends in her home, was a devout Catholic who watched Mass on television everyday after she was no longer able to attend in person. She also rooted for the Red Sox and Patriots and looked forward to decorating her home for every holiday with her creations.

Rose is survived by a brother Richard R. Cornetta and his wife Priscilla of Franklin, a sister Jean Dorr and her late husband Robert of Franklin, a nephew William Cornetta, Jr., who helped in her care for many years. Also surviving are 21 nieces & nephews, who she loved and remembered on their birthdays and anniversaries.

Rose was the sister of the late Anthony R., Joseph P., John F., William L., and Alfred Cornetta.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday April 13th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM.

Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7PM.
