Obituary

Robert A. Lussier, 85, of Woonsocket died Saturday April 7, 2018 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Estelle D. (Trahan) Lussier. They were married on August 30, 1958.
Born and raised in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Armand O. and Albertine (Bibeault) Lussier. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Lussier served in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Bob worked at U.S. Rubber for over 20 years. He also was the owner and operator of Terry’s Variety store on North Main St. and in his younger years he worked alongside with his father at Quincy Monumental Works. Bob retired from Bryant University after many years in the carpentry and facilities department.
Bob was an avid freshwater fisherman. He was a staunch New England sports fan always cheering on (or making his displeasure known) for his Red Sox and Patriots. A good hand of cards and participating in the cribbage league at the Club Lafayette as well as duck pin bowling were among his other hobbies. Bob loved spending summers at his summer retreat in Norton and occasional trips to the casino.
Bob will be remembered as a loving father and outgoing and friendly gentleman. Bob’s family wishes to thank everyone at Landmark Medical Center and Beacon Hospice for the excellent care he received.
In addition to his wife of nearly 60 years Bob is survived by a son Marcel Lussier and his wife Stephanie of Woonsocket and two daughters Collette Desplaines of Woonsocket and Celeste Campopiano and her husband Steve of FL. He was the brother of Bertrand Lussier of Woonsocket and the late Roger Lussier. He is also survived by his grandchildren Alicia Wolny, Ashley Kane, Alexandria and Robert Lussier and Anna and Elijah Sutcliffe and great-grandchildren Logen, Ian, Noelle and Aubrey and many nieces and nephews and their families.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:30 am in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
