Ann R. Hyland, 93

Ann R. (Brady) Hyland, age 93, of East Bridgewater, formerly of North Dighton, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home on Monday, April 9, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard P. Hyland, Jr., who died in 1995.
Born in Taunton, MA on February 15, 1925, she was a loving daughter of the late Alfred F. Brady and the late Grace M. (Gillespie) Brady-Lynch and her husband John Lynch.
Ann grew up in Taunton, was educated at St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a 1942 graduate of Taunton High School. She had made her home in East Bridgewater for the past four years and was a former longtime resident of North Dighton.
Mrs. Hyland was a retired operator for the former New England Telephone Company, and for many years had worked as a clerk at the North Dighton Fire and Water District.
While living in East Bridgewater, Ann was a member of the East Bridgewater Senior Center and a former member of the Dighton Senior Center. While residing in North Dighton, she was communicant of St Nicholas of Myra Church in Dighton (formerly St. Joseph’s Parish).
Ann’s favorite times by far were those spent in the presence of her adoring family. She enjoyed playing cards and bridge, was an avid reader and was a former member of the Segregansett Golf Club in Taunton.
She is survived by her devoted children Judy A. Hyland of East Wareham, Bernard P. Brady, III of Florida and Michael M. Hyland, Sr. of East Bridgewater. She was the dear sister of Patricia Merrill of Florida, her twin sister Paula Nicholas of Stoneham and the late Jean Coelho. She was the cherished grandmother of Bernard P. Hyland, IV, Cara Lyn LaSalle, and twins Jacob G. Hyland and Michael M. Hyland, Jr. She was the great grandmother of Cooper LaSalle, McKenna LaSalle, Riley Hyland, Kaden Hyland, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services, along with burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Visiting hours have also been omitted.
In lieu of flowers, Ann’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA 02370.
