Joseph A. Bernazzani, age 89, of Woburn, passed away November 9th, following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Elna (Freeman) Bernazzani. Born and raised in Roslindale he was the son of the late Enrico J. and Adele Bernazzani.
Mr. Bernazzani worked as an administrator with the United States Postal Service retiring in 1973 following a thirty year career. He also served in the United States Navy during WWII. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Mr. Bernazzani is predeceased by his sister, Mary Hastings, and brothers, Robert, Edward, Richard, James and Charles Bernazzani. He is survived by his loving friend, Katherine McNeil of Arlington, and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Monday, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 100 Washington St., Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30 PM.
