Mary Ann Perkins Huckaby, age 78, of Oxford, MS died Friday, April 6, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford with her family by her side. She was born June 29, 1939 in Lafayette County, MS to the late Ed Ray Perkins and Annie Mae Maples Perkins and married James William Huckaby. She worked at Emerson Electric and also worked at Holley Carburetor. She enjoyed crocheting and going to auctions. Mary Ann was a wonderful gardener and spent her summers canning vegetables for her family, but her real passion was fishing. She loved gospel singing and was a member of New El Bethel Church.
Mary is survived by two sons, Bobby (Shelia) Huckaby of Oxford, MS, and Jimmy Huckaby (Todd Crawford) of Cookeville, TN; a sister, Brenda (James) Hale of Water Valley; and a brother, John Perkins (Judy) also of Water Valley, MS; three grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
Services are planned for 2:00 PM Sunday, April 8, 2018 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Freddie Buchanan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time with burial in Serepta Cemetery in Calhoun County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Huckaby; three sisters, and three brothers.
