DOHERTY, Thomas E. "Ted" Of Natick, April 5, 2018. Beloved husband of Ruth (Ingegneri) Doherty. Devoted father of Jennifer A. Davis of Albuquerque, NM. Grandfather of Joel Thomas Davis. Son of Robert E. Doherty of Hopkinton and Mae L. (Perry) Doherty of Sandwich. Brother of Colleen Gallagher of Millis, MA, John Doherty of Colchester, VT, Kerry Humphrey of New Boston, NH, Erin Brooks of Sandwich, MA, and the late Robert A. Doherty.
Ted has worked in the IT industry for over 20 years holding positions such as: Director of Information Systems, Project Manager, and Senior Consultant. He started working with PC’s in 1988 while working for The Interface Group, which at the time, was the worlds leading trade show producer.
In 1995 while Ted was a Project Manager, The Interface Group’s Trade Show Division was sold to Softbank and named Softbank COMDEX. In 1997 Ted was Director of IS when Softbank COMDEX merged with Softbank Forums and Ziff-Davis, at which time he was assigned to the position of Director of IS for Ziff-Davis’ Events division, ZD Events. In 2000 Ted again was assigned the position of Director of IS when ZD Events was spun-off to become Key3Media Events.
He worked for Expo International 2002-2003 as Senior System Consultant, an Independent Consultant and IT Specialist 2003-2007, and Normatec 2007-2017 as IT Manager.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Monday, April 9 at 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Natick at 11:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Sunday, April 8 from 3-7pm. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.
