Richard J. Medeiros, 83, of Westport, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy L. (DeMello) Medeiros.
Mr. Medeiros was born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph and Maria (Vieira) Medeiros and had been a longtime resident of Westport. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a truck driver for KRR Construction Co. in Assonet. For many years he was a member of Summit Grove Holy Ghost in Dartmouth. He loved traveling and was an avid farmer.
Survivors along with his wife include his 2 sons: Richard J. Pimental and his fiancée Jeanne Audet of Westport and Steven Pimental of Westport; his 4 daughters: Gail Medeiros of AZ, Cheryl Mello (Douglas) of Westport, Sharon Pimental of Fall River and Gerrie Medeiros (Christie) of Fall River; a sister: Geraldine Bouchard of FL; 4 grandchildren: Kenneth (Melissa), Johnathan (Jessica), Philip (Kristen) and Sherry; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Mary Lou Tavares.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be Friday, April 20, 2018 from 4-8 P.M.
Interment will be private.
