DEMAKES Harriet (Pappas) of Dedham passed away on April 3, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband Charles P. Demakes. Devoted sister of Marie Georgelis of Milford. Harriet was the daughter of the late John and Nancy (Zevitas) Pappas of Boston. Harriet was the proud aunt of several nieces and nephews both here and in Nebraska.
A long time resident of Dedham, Harriet was a reading specialist in the town’s public schools for many years. She had received her bachelor’s degree in education from Boston State Teacher’s College and her Master’s Degree from Simmons College.
Harriet had an outgoing personality as well as having a caring attitude which endeared her to both students and colleagues. She will be greatly missed by her relatives and friends.
Visiting hours will be in the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St. Dedham on Saturday, April 7th from 4-8pm. Interment private.
