Mary Garlick , 93, passed away at her home after a struggle with Lewy Body dementia on March 29, 2018.
Mary was the daughter of the late Luke and Jennie Wrobel; the sister of the late George Wrobel and wife of 45 years of the late Lester Garlick. She leaves behind her two daughters mary Ellen Frias and Carolyn Garlick and her son-in-law Al Frias. She also leaves behind her niece Nancy Souza and two nephews George and Tom Wrobel, a grandson and three step-grandchildren.
Mary’s only devotions were to her family and her religion. She was a stay-at-home mom until her daughters graduated from St. Stanislaus School, elementary school and beloved parish. A BMC Durfee graduate, she was employed at Elbee Fire Company prior to the birth of her daughters and Yates Rubber Company following their graduation.
Nothing was greater than the love between Mary and Lester. She assisted him with upholstery, sat by him waiting for his birds during pigeon races and assured for family time for their daughters.
Mary was always very involved in St. Stanislaus Parish. She volunteered at the school lunch program, bingo and various parish fundraisers. She loved spending time in her yard gardening and mowing the lawn! She was an avid crocheter who donated many afghans to nursing homes, cancer centers and the mentally ill. She enjoyed crocheting preemie hats for Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Mary was truly a loving ad generous soul.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland St. Fall River. Arrangements were entrusted to Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway Fall River, MA. In lieu of flowers, Mary would love donations in her memory to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912. Killian Hill Rd. S.W. Lilburn, GA 30047.
