Owen Holmes Hart passed away Saturday, March 31st, at home after a long illness. His husband, John Gordon, and his beloved dogs, Sparky and Brady, were by his side.
Born in Narberth, Pennsylvania, son of the late Albert and Jane (Light) Hart, he graduated from Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Hiram Scott College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After college he was employed by Kalas Manufacturing and Sylvan Chemical Company in Denver, Pennsylvania. Owen was office manager and Vice-President of Kalas and served on the Board of Directors for both Kalas and Sylvan.
He retired in 1997 and moved to Provincetown on Cape Cod, with his husband John. They owned and operated the Prince Albert Guest House on Commercial Street in Provincetown. After running the guest house for many years, he and John moved to North Truro with his cherished dogs, Caesar and Duke.
Owen is survived by his brother Mark, his sister Faith and his children, Jennifer Desmarais and husband, Robert, Amy Smith and her husband, Lance, and Andrew Hart and his wife Sarah and cousin, Jane Luce and her husband, Eric. Owen was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his aunt and uncle, Walter and Katherine Cubberly and his brother, Wood.

Graveside services for family and friends in the Philadelphia area will be held Saturday, May 19th at the George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 80 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
