Obituary

Antoinette A. (Caron) Simmons, 99, of Salem, passed away, Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late William E. Simmons, Jr.
Born in Salem, She was the daughter of the late Leonidas and Delvenise (Fugere) Caron, the tenth of thirteen children. She was educated in Salem and continued her education at the Holy Ghost Hospital where she studied nursing. She worked as an LPN in Cambridge, MA until she married her husband in 1943. Together, they settled in Salem and raised three children.
Antoinette is survived by her son, Daniel, and his wife Kate of Salem, a daughter Louise Cleary, also of Salem: six grandchildren, Stephen Pike of Maine, Brian Pike of Danvers, Diane Lima of Salem, Jeffrey Lima of Salem, Sarah Simmons of North Carolina and Bradley Simmons, also of North Carolina: five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and siblings, she was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Robert Pike, of Danvers and her son-in-law, Lawrence Cleary, of Salem.
At Antoinette’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A private service and burial with immediate family will be held under the direction of the Levesque Funeral Home of Salem.
