He is survived by his daughter Jennifer “Kelly” King of Louisville, Kentucky.
Dudley attended Male High School and was a member of the ROTC, played Junior Varsity Football and played trombone in the award winning Male High Band. After graduating from Male in 1949, he attended Bryant & Stratton Business College majoring in Science. In 1952, Dudley was drafted into the US Army, served during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1954. After military service, he worked for Liggett Meyers Tobacco Company as a Salesman with his territory covering the state of Kentucky. Deciding to make a career change, Dudley pursued an opportunity with The Kentucky State Reformatory in LaGrange securing a position as ID Officer. This opportunity would lead to a 26 year career in the ID Bureaus of both Louisville and Jefferson County Police Departments as an Identification Technician achieving “expert level” status before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Ralph Avenue Baptist Church. His interests included photography and astronomy, but his passion was classical music with Beethoven and Bach being his favorite composers. His home was his castle and he spent many days attending to his yard with wife, Norma.
Kelly is grateful for the love and support of Mildred & Becky Lee; Cindee, Rick & Daniel Scroggy; Nancy & Nan Rhodes; Cindy Krause, Tom Sills, Phyllis & Jenny Hundley; Charlotte & Roy Collard and Sue Creason.
