Gertrude Parenteau, age 82, passed away on Mar 29, 2018 at Mt St Vincent Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Quebec City, Canada on Aug 11, 1935 to the late Henri and Allyne (Beaudoin) Therrien. She worked for many years as an accountant for the Springfield Boys & Girls Club. She was a very vibrant and spiritual woman. Gertrude loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hiking and photography. She leaves two sons Richard Parenteau Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Springfield and Keith Parenteau and his wife Theresa of Westfield; two sisters Andrea Buscemi of Agawam and Pierrette Soucy of Sherbrook, Canada; 4 grandchildren Jason, Kris, Chantel and Arielle and one great grandchild Cici and many dear and close friends. She was predeceased by one brother Ronnie Therrien and one sister Millie Houle. Calling Hours will be held on Sat, Apr 7, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to take place at 2:30 p.m. Burial is Private.
