LACONIA — Mr. Armand A. Bolduc, 78, of 36 Janna Way, died at his home on April, 1, 2018.
Mr. Bolduc was born April 9, 1939 in Laconia, the son of Charles H. and Ora (Theberge) Bolduc. He lived his entire life as a resident of the Lakes Region and graduated from Laconia High School, Class of 1958.
Mr. Bolduc was a farmer, National Guardsman, engraver at Sawyer's Jewelry, and Saymore Trophy, sales representative at Gove Electric, Laconia Electric and Trustworthy Hardware. He was a pillar of the Community, serving over 34 years as a Councilman in Wards 3 and 6 including a term as Mayor, 1984-1985, and on numerous occasions selected by the council to serve as Mayor Pro-tem in the Mayor’s absence. He was one of the founders of the Lakes Region Wavemakers, coordinated the Native American sculpture donation at Opechee Park with the artist Peter Toth, Co-Chairman of Christmas Village, greeting all who entered as Twinkle the Elf for over 30 years. He was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and founding member of the Traditional Catholics of New Hampshire who worship at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located at the Bolduc family farm in Gilford. He served as a member of the board of Holy Trinity School and an incorporator of Lakes Region General Hospital. In 2003, the Greater Laconia/Weirs Beach Chamber of Commerce honored him with the Jim Irwin Award for Outstanding Community Service. He was a member of the Lakeport Community Association. Recently, he was presented with the WEEI 101.5 FM Hometown Hero award for 30 plus years of dedicated service to the City of Laconia. On most days he could be found on the family farm tending to the buffalo that roamed the property.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Janet "Jan" Bolduc, after forty-two years of marriage.
He is survived by three sons, and their spouses, Brigadier General (Retired) Donald C. and Sharon Bolduc of Stratham, NH; Master Sergeant (Retired) Armand J. and Sherry Bolduc of Reston, Virginia, and Colonel David R. and Karen Bolduc of Tampa, Florida; a daughter, Michelle Bolduc-Muzzey and her spouse Dustin Muzzey of Laconia; eight grandchildren, Holly M. Bolduc, Joshua N. Bolduc, Haley M. Bolduc, Zachary E. Bolduc, Noah T. Bolduc, Matthew A. Bolduc, Drew T. Muzzey, and Kali J. Muzzey; three great grandchildren, Jay Bolduc, Hadley Bolduc, and Hanna Bolduc; sisters, Anita McKeown of Belmont, Laurette Seabeck of Oregon, and Helen Gaudet of Belmont; brothers, Maurice Bolduc of New Port Ritchey, Florida, Ernest Bolduc of Laconia, and Robert Bolduc of Winnisquam. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Ora Bolduc of Gilford.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 12:00noon at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Morrill Street, Gilford, Fr. Richard McDonough, will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Gilford.
