Leoda Bryant Maddox Alsobrook, 91, of Lenox, Georgia, died Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin County with Elder Tom Deal officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 Wednesday morning at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Alsobrook was born November 7, 1926, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Littleton Edward & Florence Gertrude Christmas Bryant. She was a 1944 graduate of Ocilla High School having also attended Reedy Creek School. She was a seamstress for Fitzgerald Underwear and the Berlin Corporation. She also farmed and worked at Spicer’s Abattoir. For over 20 years, she helped manage the family service stations 3 M’s BP and 3 M’s Amoco and also worked in the Days Inn Cafeteria in Tifton. She was a member of Tifton Primitive Baptist Church and formerly a member of Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Coy & Amy Maddox of Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter: Janice & Terry Patton of Venice, Louisiana; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lorena Bryant of Ocilla; as well as several nieces and nephews including Ferris Parrish of Irwinville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy W. Maddox, her husband, Charles W. Alsobrook; two daughters, Linda Moore and Mary Lou Weathers; three sisters: Lillian Boyd, Emma Lee Spicer, and Louisa Griffin; and a brother, Rev. Littleton Edward Bryant.
