John E. Vigue, age 84, passed away peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, in his loving family’s company on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Born, raised, and educated in Skowhegan, Somerset, ME, he had been a long time resident of North Attleboro, MA. Mr. Vigue enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He completed training in Engineering in the Navy and worked as an Engineer on Water Transport Ships holding the rank of END2 upon discharge. After his Naval Service he went on to work as an Electronics Engineer in Computer Engineering in the government as well as in the private sector. He entered the field at the beginning of the growth of the Computer Industry and worked in this area most of his life. He was the the beloved husband of the late Frances R. (Giarraputo) Vigue, and the devoted son of the late Lawrence and Leona Corinne (Cote) Vigue. Mr. Vigue was predeceased by his siblings; the late Lawrence Jr., Ronald and Gloria Vigue and Martha Spencer. He is survived by his nieces and nephew, Maria-Elana “Mia” L. Hurld of Quincy, John Spencer of Columbus, OH and Sherry Griffeth of Waterville, ME, loving grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as, great grandnieces and great grandnephews. A celebration of life Service will be held at a future date. Burial will be in MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
