Regina C. Wozniak

Regina C. (Sobiech) Wozniak, age 94, of Norton, formerly of Norwood, passed away peacefully, with her adoring daughters by her side, on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward W. Wozniak, to whom she was wed for thirty years at the time of his death in 1976.
Born in Dorchester, MA on November 25, 1923, she was a loving daughter of the late Balintine and Stella (Panus) Sobiech.
Regina grew up in Dorchester and was educated at St. Mary’s School in Dorchester. She was a graduate of Jeremiah Burke High School in Boston.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Wozniak had been employed as a clerk at the Norfolk Probate Court in Dedham for ten years. When younger and while raising her family, she worked as a hairdresser and for many years as a waitress at the Midway in Dedham.
Regina had made her home in Norton for over twenty years and was a former longtime resident of Norwood. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and a former communicant of St. Catherine’s Church in Norwood. She loved spending time with her treasured family, and her hobbies included cooking, playing cards and reading.
She is survived by her devoted children Edward J. Wozniak and his wife Peg of Fallbrook, CA, Judith A. Vinson of Norton and Joanne M. Halpin of Hopedale. She was the cherished grandmother of Laurie, Chris, Jess, Brendan and Julie, and the great grandmother of Emily, Evan, Christopher and Joshua. She was the dear sister of the late Edna Gustowski, Francis Sobiech and Stanley Sobiech, and is also survived by several generations of nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will begin on Wednesday, April 4th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 3rd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
