Obituary

Kevin Cleveland Atkins, “Wolfey”, 65, of Mystic died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at W.W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born October 3, 1952 in Groton, the son of Cleveland L. and Doris (Morgan) Atkins.

He served in the U.S. Army Airborne Division for two years and was honorably discharged in 1972. Kevin worked for the Town of Stonington Highway Department for many years, retiring in 1998. He was a Life Member of the Pawcatuck Workingman’s Club.

Kevin is survived by his sister, Jan M. Smith and brother-in-law Jesse Smith of Stonington, sister Roberta Holt of Plainfield, and brother Robert Atkins and sister-in-law Gloria Atkins of Stonington, as well as 6 nieces, 4 nephews and one special great great niece, Kylie. Kevin will be greatly missed by his two best friends, Jim Brennan and Mike Stewart.

He is predeceased by his parents, grandparents and niece Kim Labonte.

His family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, April 5, from 11:00am to 12:00 Noon at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Funeral Home service will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 Noon. Services will conclude with burial with full military honors in the family plot in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
