Rachel Walker Fulcher, 51, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away on March 28, 2018 in Brunswick, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel, with the family receiving friends from 11:00 am until service time. Burial will be at 11:00 am at Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes, Florida on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
Rachel Walker Fulcher was born as Rachel Mota on June 12, 1966 to Georgina and Ramon Mota in Miami, Florida. Rachel was one of her parents six children, second youngest. She lived most of her life in Miami with her siblings and first child, Christopher Dobie Walker Jr and moved to Georgia in 1998 where she gave birth to her daughter, Savannah Marie Walker and lived in Georgia for the remainder of her life with her children.
Rachel is beloved by many, especially her family and close friends. Anyone that knew Rachel was immediately imprinted by her funny, quirky and fierce personality. She was a second mom to all her nephews/nieces, her children's friends and even some siblings. Rachel loved her children more than anything in this world (Christopher, Savannah and Miguel Mota) whom she would do anything for. She was extremely passionate with any of her children’s extra curricular activities, from Christopher’s baseball games where as team mom, she coordinated road trips and combinations for all the players and parents to Savannah’s gymnastics and karate lessons and Miguel’s cross country track meets. Through her children’s activities is where she gained a passion for photography and went mayhem on saving every single possible memory. It was very easy to find her in any crowd, she was the loudest Cuban cheering at any event because she was everyone’s #1 fan and biggest supporter. Rachel was the kind of woman that would make everyone's problems her own and fight any battle you are facing with you. She cared nothing more than to make memories and always bringing the family together. Her favorite day of the year was always Thanksgiving Day simply because that was the day she could have her entire family together eating all the food that she prepared over the course of a few days including her famous pecan pie. While Rachel loved living in Georgia, those that knew her also knew that Miami is where she called home. She loved to drive to Miami to spend time with her sister whom she spoke to via telephone everyday, nephews/nieces, eat Cuban food (Her sister Glady’s steak) and go to Miami Dolphin games. While she loved all Miami sports teams, everyone knew that she held the Miami Dolphins nearest and dearest to her heart. Many may not know but Rachel was a hopeless romantic and loved engulfing herself in a Nicholas Sparks novel as a hobby, her favorite book was The Notebook. Legend of the Falls was always Rachel’s favorite movie and she only wore one perfume, Organza.
Rachel was truly a special, one of a kind woman whom had a contagious smile and always lit up the room with her presence. She will always be loved and remembered by her close friends and family.
