Margie McDonald Peek, 69, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, March 29, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday, evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Peek was born December 27, 1948, in Rochester, New York to the late Bill & Maggie Moffit McDonald. She was formerly the head waitress at Shoney’s restaurant. Mrs. Peek loved to read her Bible and helped in her husband’s ministry. She sang with the group “Doers of the Word”. She was a very giving and caring person who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John & Kimberly Danette Diakogiannis of Fitzgerald and Alex & Rhonda Lynn Diakogiannis of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Dean Diakogiannis, Deanna Diakogiannis, Macie & Chris Sercer, Austin Diakogiannis, Chad & Kristen Diakogiannis, and Alex Mark Diakogiannis, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Jace Sercer, Kay’cee Sercer, and Everett Diakogiannis; and a brother, William “Billy” & Donna McDonald of Greenville, South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harold Dean Peek.
