Zachary Allen Brooks of Nashville passed away at 57 years of age after 39 years of a debilitating disease on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at his residence. He was the son of James Allen Brooks and Emma Dell Hendley Brooks. A graveside service will be held for Mr. Brooks at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Westview Cemetery in Nashville, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. James Allen Brooks. The Rev. V. L. Daugherty Jr., the Rev. Dr. Dale Harward and Mr. Thomas Clayton will officiate.
Zachary was born in the old hospital in Nashville on November 16, 1960 in Nashville. Through the years of illness, Zachary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from the University of Georgia and finished two years of seminary studies at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Zachary was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Dell Hendley Brooks.
He is survived by his father, James Allen Brooks of Nashville; his brother and sister-in-law, Scott Richard Brooks and wife, Karen Stormer Brooks of Atlanta; a nephew, Connor Stormer Brooks; a niece, Holly Elara Brooks; his uncles and their wives, David and Irmgard Brooks, Walter and Annette Brooks and J. W. and Shirley Hendley; and several cousins.
