Obituary

Betty A. Bouchard, 87, formerly of Farnum Pike, Smithfield died Monday, March 26, 2018 at Hebert’s Nursing Home in Smithfield. She was the widow of Laurence A. Bouchard, Sr.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Everett A. and Margaret (Howard) Salisbury. She had lived in Smithfield since 1955.

Mrs. Bouchard was a Clerk/Bookkeeper in the Smithfield Town Clerk’s Office for 18 years before her retirement. She had also served as the Clerk for the Board of Canvassers.

She was a former member of the St. Michael’s Ladies Guild, a 1949 graduate of St. Xavier High School and a member of their Alumni Association. She was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and NASCAR Fan.

She was completely devoted to her family and faith.

She is survived by her children: Lauren Giroux and her husband, Will and Geralyn Stanford, all of Smithfield, John Bouchard and his wife, Lori of Richmond and Michelle Bashaw and her husband, David of Johnston, her 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a great great grandson, her daughter-in-law, Mary Bouchard of Smithfield and her siblings: Joan Daniels and Jeannette Moore. She was the mother of the late Laurence Bouchard, Jr., mother in law of the late Steven Stanford, and sister of the late Joseph H. Earl, George H., and Thomas Salisbury, Flora Cooney and Anne Sanderson.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Visitation Monday 4-8pm.
