Charles F. Fosberg 86 of Natick died Monday, March 26, 2018.
He was the beloved husband of Norma (MacNeil) Fosberg formerly of Wellesley, sharing 67 years of marriage.
Born in Natick and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Edwin Fosberg and Margaret (Jones) Fosberg.
He grew up in the section of Natick that was known as “Pokeville” . He was educated through the Natick School System before serving in the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany. He also received the Army of Occupation of Germany Medal while serving there. He worked for many years at the Wellesley Press Company and later retired from the Town of Wellesley School Department.
Chuck was an accomplished golfer and member of the Nehoiden Golf Club of Wellesley College for many years. As an avid sports fan, he faithfully supported Natick High sports often referring to Natick as the “Home of Champions”.
He is survived by his children Charles F. Fosberg, Jr. and his wife Rose of Natick, Ludell Cairney and husband James of Natick, Glenn Fosberg and wife Diane of Ashland, Peggy Hendricks and husband Brian of Whitinsville, Kristin Arena and husband Joseph of Natick.
He was the beloved grandfather of Brian Hendricks Jr., Christopher (Bub) Hendricks, Jeffrey, Brendan and Daniel Cairney, Courtney Brillant, Erik Fosberg, Emily Fosberg, Tyler Nickels and Alison Arena. He was the great grandfather of 14.
Step-grandfather to James Frederick and Patti of Auburn -MA, John Frederick and Trish of Dover – NH, and Jeffrey Frederick and Lori of Milford – MA.
Brother of the late Robert Fosberg, Edwin Fosberg and Paul Fosberg. His sister-in-law’s are Phyllis (Fosberg) Burrows, Marsha Fosberg, Nancy MacNeil and Deborah Gile. Also, sister-in-law to the late Catherine Fosberg and Margaret McDonald. Brother-in-law to George MacNeil of Franconia –NH, Lawrence MacNeil of Ashland, Richard McDonald of Marlboro and Ron Gile of Alfred, ME. Chuck is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, March 30th at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common. Burial with Military Honors in Dell Park Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
