Obituary

Frank Leslie Bright III, third child born to the late Frank Leslie Bright Jr. and the late Ruth (Oviatt) Bright passed away March 24th 2018.

Frank cooked at the 95 House Restaurant and worked at Electric Boat while in his twenties.

After meeting and marrying Sandra Sanford Reed, the love of his life, he moved to Woodstock, CT. Sadly, Sandy predeceased him.

While living in Woodstock, Frank cooked for the Pomfret School and Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall camp.

Yes! Frank did enjoy cooking, always trying the latest kitchen widgets and gadgets.

He was also a techie, enjoying stereos, CB radios, computers and much more. Another passion was gemstones and minerals, he knew the varieties and where each was found, often making jewelry for friends and relatives.

Frank took Sandy’s death hard, and his health began failing soon after. More recently he and his dog Toby lived with our sister Vicki.

We will miss the epic phone calls, the Sneekers lunches and holiday dinners with Frank.

Yes, we will miss Frank, always. “Do you not know that a man is not truly dead while his name is still spoken?”

He is survived by four sisters; Donna and her husband Timothy; Dana and her husband Stephen; Nancy Clark; Vicki and her husband Christopher Startz. Frank also leaves two brothers; John and his wife Deborah; and William and his wife Alicia. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 30, at 10:00am at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery will be held privately for the family at a later date.
