Doris B. Tardiff, 94, of Milan, NH passed away on Friday March 23, 2018 at the Coos County Nursing Home where she had been receiving rehabilitation after a fall. She was born in Berlin, NH on July 12, 1923 and was the daughter of Ephraim and Aurelie (Lessard) Lamontagne. Having lived on Milan Hill for 64 years, she was accustomed to a country lifestyle. For many years, she made all the bread and churned the butter for the family. Her cooking was excellent and chocolate chip cookies were her specialty. Family and friends were always welcomed to dinner. She enjoyed the outdoors with the love of her life, whom she married in 1945. We grew up to the sound of our parents singing love songs to one another, songs she continued to sing in public and private throughout her life. She was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and had been employed by Granite State Rubber Company as a stitcher for 15 years and enjoyed the comradeship with the girls who worked there. In her younger years, she traveled around the country. In later years, she enjoyed a ride up the river while listening to 40’s music. She loved people and they loved her. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Family includes her children Richard Tardiff and wife Jackie of Sunnyvale, CA, Rachel Bergeron and husband Normand of Berlin, NH, Suzanne Demers and husband Robert of Gorham, NH, Annette Tardiff of Milan, NH, Michael Tardiff and wife Kimberly of Berlin, NH and David Tardiff of Manchester, NH; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Emile Lamontagne; sister Yvette Gagne; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Lionel Tardiff and siblings Emery Lamontagne, Dora Jacques, Clarence Lamontagne, Dennis Lamontagne, Normand Lamontagne, Jeanne Bouchard and Leon Lamontagne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 12, 2018 at 1:30 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to AV Home Care, 795 Main St., Berlin, NH, 03570. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
