Carlton Andrew Collins, 68, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Collins was born December 12, 1949, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late W. T. & Leona Tomberlin Collins. He was a 1969 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and later attended Norman Park College and South Georgia College. Mr. Collins served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter and taught Construction at Ben Hill Irwin Technical School. Mr. Collins was an aviator and enjoyed sky diving.
He is survived by his three sons: Andrew & Michelle Collins of Fitzgerald, Austin Collins of Fitzgerald and Alex & Hailey Collins of Ocilla; three grandchildren: Cade Collins, Casey Collins and Owen Collins and a brother, Allen Collins & Julie of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Collins and a brother, James W. Collins.
