Florence (Souza) Petkoff, 86, of Assonet, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Somerset Ridge Center with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Victor L. Petkoff.
Mrs. Petkoff was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Frank F. and Adeline (Cabral) Souza and had resided in Dartmouth for many years before moving to Assonet. She was involved with the Dartmouth COA, a Co-founder of the Greater Dartmouth Senior Citizens Club and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary for the Dartmouth Fire Department, District 3. She was employed at St Luke’s Hospital Emergency Department in admissions and at area healthcare facilities until her retirement . She enjoyed singing and dancing.
Survivors include her daughter: Lori P. Jose and her husband Robert of Assonet; her 3 granddaughters: Marissa Jae Jesus, Lynne Tripp Phillips and Kimmy Tripp Mello; her nieces: Jeanne Harris; Kathy Tavares; and Bernie Oliveira, nephews and great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Donna Marie Tripp and sister of the late Rose Oliveira, Frank Souza and William Souza.
