Obituary

LEONARD S. COTSOVILES 93, of Anderson IN passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 23, 2018. LEONARD was born LEONIDAS COTSOVILES on May 24, 1924, in Kaliani, Greece. He was the son of SOTIRIOS and OURANIA (SKORDA) of STYMFALIA GREECE.


He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Indianapolis. As a young man he joined the Greek National Army during the Greek civil war of 1945-1948. Later he was elected Mayor of his hometown. In 1955 he married Anastasia Pancol a native of Anderson Indiana and immigrated to the United States. He owned and operated several family businesses including, Nick’s Orchard, the Red Brick Inn, Nick's Restaurants and Nick's Donuts and Pizza.



Survivors include daughter Rena and son-in-law Anastasios Girinakis of Anderson, In., daughter Victoria and son-in-law William Browning, of California and son Sotirios Cotsoviles of Anderson, In., three grandchildren Zachary Morris, Christian Morris and Anastasia Cotsoviles.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Anastasia (Pancol) Cotsoviles.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Reverend Father William John Bartz. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. A Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday Evening at the funeral home.
