Lillie “Evelyn” Purvis Webb, 88, of Tifton passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. Joe Crews officiating. Mrs. Webb will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 25, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Brandon Rutland, Brendon Brouilette, Bryan Wimberly, Brad Billings, Dana Harnage and David Fitzgerald will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 8, 1929 in Berrien County, Mrs. Webb was the daughter of the late Eddie Purvis, Sr. and Jessie Baker Purvis. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Purvis, Jr. and Austin Cecil Purvis; and two sisters, Gracie Baker and Lois Purvis. Before retiring, she worked was a cook at the Varsity Drive-in and the London Grill. She was a member of Unity Tabernacle in Tifton.
Mrs. Webb is survived by her husband, Carroll Webb of Tifton; two daughters, Cindy Rutland of Omega and Jennifer Davis of Tifton; a brother-in-law, Thomas Webb of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Hazel Gregory of Jacksonville, Florida and Carlene and Willis Dowdy of Tifton; three sisters-in-law, Sara Nell Harnage and husband Curtis of Tifton, Velma McMillan of Dawsonville and Evelyn Webb of Douglasville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kristy and Danny Lamb, Brandon and Jodi Rutland and Dyanna Rutland; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Webb’s extended family at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton for their exemplary care of Mrs. Webb.
