WHEELER, Katheryn “Kitty” (Wiss) of Chestnut Hill, March 17, 2018 at the age of 98. Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Harry, Jr. Survived by her son Harry, III and his wife Paula. She was the second of ten children born to John Peter and Virginia (Whitman) Wiss who lived on a farm in High Hill, Missouri. Predeceased by sisters Vera Strack, Ollie Mae Bauer, Purl Riechman, and Wilma Vogt, all of Missouri. Survived by brothers and sisters Arline Wertz of Tennessee, Rose Begemann, John Wiss, Maxine Witte and Floyd Wiss, all of Missouri. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Kitty graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1940. In her 40’s and 50’s she earned several more degrees and certificates from Harvard. She served in the WAVES in WWII as an Intelligence Officer. After the war she was a homemaker; she made the best cookies in the neighborhood. Visitation at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Monday, March 26th from 10:30am – 11:30am followed by a Memorial Service at the funeral home and then by burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30pm.
