O’Connell, Alice F. (Galvin) of Jamaica Plain, March 19, 2018. Beloved mother of Danny O’Connell and his wife Cathy of Norfolk, Kevin O’Connell of Jamaica Plain, and Jack O’Connell and his wife Kristina of Braintree. Loving grandmother of Kaitlyn, Colleen, Janel, Josh, Jamie and Lucy. Loving great grandmother of Leo, Keira and Kennedy. Alice, hardworking and full of integrity, spent nearly 50 years working for the Federal Government. She began her career at the Navy Yard in Boston, and spent many years working at the VA Hospital as a secretary serving veterans. Alice, or Snookie as she was known to many, enjoyed gatherings with her family, shopping, and movies – particularly thrillers. Always generous and thoughtful she was a woman who put family first. Alice was voted most likely to succeed in High School. Her family would believe this to be true. Patient, intelligent, fun loving, resilient and witty, Alice will be remembered with love and warmth. She will be sorely missed.
