Obituary

It is with a sense of deep loss that we announce the passing of Diane Marie Massaglia of Sierra Vista, AZ. Diane was born in Notre-Dame des Bois, Canada in 1947. She lived with her three sisters and two brothers until the death of her mother, Yvette Turgeon.

Diane was adopted by Maria Gingues and Edouard Forget and became part of their family. She grew up on the family farm and went on to college to become a teacher. She taught school in Chartierville until her marriage to Andre Boucher. She was blessed with four boys that were the highlight of her life.

They lived in Canada, New York, Manchester, and Barnstead before moving to Derry, NH where she married Paul Massaglia. They lived in Derry until moving to Sierra Vista, AZ in 2016 where she lived in her dream house until her passing.
Diane was known for her cooking (meat pies, sugar pies, and cookies, just to name a few) and sewing, but mostly for her devotion to her family of four boys, three step children, and 14 grandchildren. She closely followed her boys and grand children in their progress in school, work, and especially sports. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and always tried hard never to miss one of her children or grandchildren’s games.

Diane was a medical survivor having survived multiple bouts with cancer, diabetes, and other serious illnesses. She still found time to travel on cruises to Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, and Hawaii.

She is survived by her husband Paul Massaglia of AZ, her sons and their wives Steve and Carrie, Jason and Michelle, and Carl, all of NH, and Bryan and his wife Tina of Texas., her sisters France, Colette, Ginette, Therese and her husband Fernand , brothers Guy, Cesaire and his wife Denise, and Raymond of Canada, step-children Michele of NH, Michael and his wife Jeanette, and Wendi of AZ, and grandchildren Emma, Gabriella, Julianna, Andrew of NH, Keira and Sterling of Texas, Brianna and Andre of Conn, Dane and Leanne of NH, Jamie and Mike Jr. of CA, Daniel and Madeline of Arizona. Diane will be missed by her husband, family, and many friends she leaves behind in NH, Canada, and AZ.

A calling hour for Diane was held Saturday April 14, 2018 from 10-11am in the hall at the First Parish Church, 47 East Derry Road, Derry. A celebration of her life was held at 11:00am in the Church. Committal prayers followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, behind the church.
