Born on October 15, 1929 in Minneapolis. Proud to be from “Nordeast” Leo attended Edison High School. He volunteered for the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1948 to 1952, stationed on Adak, Aleutian Islands, Alaska. Leo attended the University of Minnesota, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He later returned to earn a Business degree. Leo retired after 25 years from MnDOT. Beloved husband, father, & grandfather, Leo is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arlene (nee Anfang), daughter Lynn (Dan) Willenbring, grandsons Brian (Karlie) Willenbring & Michael Willenbring. Special thanks to the staff of The Waters of Oakdale, Memory Care, where Leo resided for 3 years & to the care team from Abode Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday (3/20) 11:00 AM at TRANSFIGURATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 6122 15th St N Oakdale, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter.
