Ruby Berkley Newcomb, age 96, of Fort Mitchell, VA, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018. She was born March 22, 1921 in Charlotte County, VA to the late Jackson Allen Berkley and the late Flossie Love Dickerson Berkley.
Ruby was a faithful member of Salem Christian Church and taught Sunday school for 50 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Jackson "Papa Dick" Newcomb; son, Clifton "Kip" Newcomb; three grandchildren; brother, Carl Berkley; and two sisters, Marie Fleet and Hazel Olsen.
Ruby is survived by three sons, Johnny Newcomb of Chase City, VA, Robert "Bobby" Newcomb of Fort Mitchell, VA, and Herman Newcomb and wife, Arlene of Fort Mitchell, VA; one daughter, Brenda Newcomb Lloyd of Lynchburg, VA; eleven grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Edna Broom, Marion Robertson, and Christine McGraw all of Mechanicsville, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Salem Christian Church, Fort Mitchell, VA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
