BILLERICA - Bernice Elizabeth (Sidebottom) Hagg, age 106, a former long-time Stoughton resident, died peacefully at her Billerica residence Thursday afternoon, March 15, in the care of four generations of her beloved family. She was the wife of the late Albert Hagg.
She was born in Revere, on October 16, 1911, the oldest of five children of the late James and Bernice (Pratt) Sidebottom. She had lived in Stoughton the greater part of her life, until age 85. She was a member of the Stoughton chapter Order of The Eastern Star, served on the Advisory Board for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls in Stoughton, and was a member of the First Parish Universalist Church in Stoughton.
In her working years, she was a bookkeeper at John Hancock Insurance in Boston, loved to travel, enjoyed knitting/crocheting and playing cards with her family and friends. She thought there was nothing better than a good football or baseball game on television.
She leaves a daughter, Bernice “Bunny” Sullivan of Billerica, a son, Peter Hagg and his wife Linda of Eastham; a sister, Ruth Jenkins of Brewster; a sister-in-law, Norma Sidebotton of Stoughton; seven grandchildren, Robert Sullivan and his wife Linda of Boxford, Lisa Salem and her husband Bill of Ashby, Dana Sullivan and his wife Jen of Billerica, Holly Pelton and her husband Brian of Billerica, Karen Kelly and her husband Eddy of S.C., Scott Hagg and his wife Michelle of CO, Kristen Cannastraro and her husband Derek of Eastham; fifteen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends acquired during her extraordinarily long lifetime.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Brian P. Sullivan; and siblings, John “Jack” Sidebottom, Alfred Sidebottom, and Olive Todd.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Parish Universalist Church in Stoughton, MA, all are welcome. Memorials to the Brian P.
