TEWKSBURY - Kenneth John Williams, age 65, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 12, while making final preparations for a move to Maine, where he had planned to live out his retirement years. In his teen years, Ken made his great American adventure by driving across country to Alaska where he worked as a surveyor and made lifelong friendships. He had lived in North Reading before moving to Tewksbury in 1992. He and his family had enjoyed summers at their cottage at Mousam Lake in Shapleigh, Maine, where he loved fishing, boating, being outdoors, and family times.
He worked for many years in the commercial and residential home maintenance business, earned a Massachusetts Master’s Electrician license, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he had worked as a Rural Route Driver.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Dan J. Williams and his partner Mickey DiPesa of Unity, Maine; a daughter, Laura B. Williams and her fiancé, Jamie Moffatt of Delta Junction, Alaska; a grandson, Finn C. Williams; a sister, Dawn Faverty of Londonderry, NH; a brother, Dan R. Williams of Wilmington, MA; his mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and William Keefe of Deerfield Beach, FL; a brother-in-law, Joseph Jutras of Pocasset, MA; a late brother-in-law Jeffrey Jutras of Hollis, ME; five nieces and nephews, Ron and wife Jamie Faverty of Easton, MA, Jason and wife Kristen Faverty of Manchester, NH, Paul Jutras of Allston, MA, Samantha Jutras of Boston, Brett Jutras of East Bridgewater. He was especially close to his Aunt Norma of Lowell, MA and Aunt Dot of St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. He had many aunts, uncles, close cousins, and dear friends both in the U.S. and Canada.
No immediate services are planned. A celebration of life will be held in Maine this Summer.
