NEW BEDFORD — Katherine Kate (Kelly) Crosby, 101, of New Bedford, died Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Clifford Allen Crosby.
Daughter of the late Thomas and Mary A. (Clark) Kelly, she was born in New Bedford and a lifelong resident. She was a communicant of the Catholic Church and a former employee of St. Luke’s Hospital housekeeping department.
During her marriage, she enjoyed day trips to Horseneck Beach, weekends in the White Mountains, time spent visiting with family, and was an avid reader. Once at Sacred Heart Home, she enjoyed audio books, coloring and day trips to local restaurants.
Survivors include nieces Susan Crosby, Lindsey Roy and and Rebecca Roy of Dartmouth, Cynthia Modisette and Phyllis Torbush of Waxhaw, N.C. and nephews Richard Crosby of Dartmouth, Edward Crosby of Waxhaw, N.C. and Thomas Kelly of Colorado. She was stepmother of the late Barbara (Crosby) Pax and sister of the late Francis Kelly, Mary Kelly and Thomas Kelly.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass at 11 A.M. Thursday in the Chapel of Sacred Heart Nursing Home, at 359 Summer St., New Bedford with a visitation period from 10:15 A.M. to 11 A.M. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Arrangements with the Wilson Chapel, 479 County Street, New Bedford
