Geraldine Spillers Walters, 75, of Ty Ty passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty with the Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Mrs. Walters will be laid to rest at Salem Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, March 12, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for. Funerals. Mrs. Walters will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Darren Williams, Joe Walker, Antonio Viveros, Wesley Lassiter, Sy Crumley and Lance Norman will serve as pallbearers.
Born March 30, 1942 in Tift County, Mrs. Walters was the daughter of the late James Iverson Spillers and Ruby Frazier Spillers. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. She was the owner and operator of Walters Hair Fashions in Ty Ty and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. She was a “Mother” to everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband, Merton Walters of Ty Ty; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Walters of Ty Ty; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Joey Walker of Ty Ty; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Darren Williams and David Walters and fiance’, Eva Brattraw, who she raised as her own children, Mandi and Lance Norman, Joseph III and Mandy Walker and Jennifer and Antonio Viveros; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Grady Williams, Finn Williams, Everly Williams, Emily Walters, Brynzley Walters, Britten Walker, Sara Kate Walker, Juliet Viveros, Noah Viveros, Rylan Barnes, Eveah Norman, Cohen Norman and Tiffany Webb.
