Daniel J. "Dan" Mehigan, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge. He was 80 years of age.
Dan was born in Boston on August 16, 1937, a son of the late Patrick Mehigan and Helen (Downey) Mehigan. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. He entered into the United States Marine Corps on August 4, 1955 and served his country with pride until he was honorably discharged on August 3, 1959 with the rank of Corporal. Dan was a printer by trade throughout his life. He enjoyed spending his summers in Maine. He was an honorary member of the Graphic Communications International Union.
Dan is the beloved husband of the late Elinor F. "Midge"(Gilson) Mehigan. He is the devoted father of Kelly Ann Roche and her husband Michael, Daniel J. Mehigan and his wife Cheryl, Maureen Gillis and her husband Thomas, Gina Hillner and her husband David, Kevin Mehigan and Matthew Mehigan and his wife Colleen. He is the loving Grandfather of 12 grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of Patrick Mehigan and his wife Harriet and brother-in-law to the late Judith Mehigan.
Dan's Funeral Services and burial at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
