Margaret F. (Antalek) Lentini 93 of Natick died peacefully on Thursday March 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of Vito E. Lentini sharing 67 years of marriage. Born in Natick and a lifelong resident she was the daughter of the late Louie J. and Teresa Rose (Vavra) Antalek.
Margaret graduated from Natick High School, Class of 1943. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a bookkeeper for F. Diehl & Son in Wellesley and an electronics assembler at Honeywell in Brighton and Billerica.
Margaret's favorite pastimes included spending time and corresponding with her many family members and friends. She was well known for her animated conversations, inquisitive nature, and her sharp mind and wit--which she refined as an avid reader, playing rousing games of Scrabble with the family, and completing the daily crossword puzzles from the MetroWest Daily News and the Wall Street Journal. She also loved cooking, especially favorite family recipes from her Slovak childhood, and learning how to make traditional Italian meals.
One of Margaret's greatest joys was her family. She always looked forward to family gatherings and especially the time shared with her grandchildren. She relished in talking about the ancestries of the Antalek and Lentini families, and ensuring that their history and connection between their cultural legacy and the roots they planted here in Natick would be sustained for generations to come.
Margaret will be greatly missed by her extended family, and by the many friends whom she cherished and stayed close to for decades.
In addition to her husband she is survived by four children Edward Lentini and his wife Sarah of Framingham, Joseph Lentini and his wife Judith of Plymouth, Judith Johnson of Natick, James Lentini and his wife Julia of Ashland, 10 grandchildren, Lucas and Benjamin Johnson, Gabriella and Maria Lentini, Stephen, Matthew, Thomas and Gina Lentini, Catherine and Timothy Camelio, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also the mother in law of the late Gordon Johnson, sister of the late Bertold, John, Antonio, Louie T., Francis Antalek and Josephine (Antalek) Svets.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday March 15 at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick’s Church at 10:00 A.M.
