Robert J. Riberio 47, of Brockton formally of East Bridgewater, died Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at Good Samaritan Medical Center, with his family by his side. He was the beloved son of Robert and Camille (Cappiello) Riberio.
Rob was born in Boston. In his early twenties, Rob fulfilled a dream and moved to Puerto Rico. He lived on the island of Vieques and was a cook at the Casa del Francis for many years. He also lived in San Juan and worked at the Condado Beach Hotel. While in Puerto Rico, he learned to speak many different languages and was able to communicate with visitors from all over the world. When he returned from Puerto Rico, he worked at Boston College and Milton Academy.
Rob loved fishing, camping and archery. He was a fan of all Boston sports and watching old movies. He also spent many years helping to care for his grandparents.
Rob was the loving brother of Michael Riberio of East Bridgewater, cherished grandson of the late Thomas and Helen Cappiello and Buddy and Jennie Smith. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and his cat Mallory, all who loved him dearly.
Visiting Hours will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rt. 123) Brockton on Wednesday March 14, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. Family services will be private and burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
