STANDISH- Phoebe Ann Stewart, age 84, passed away on March 8, 2018 at Seal Rock Health Care in Saco.
Born in Portland on March 13, 1933, daughter of the late Andrew and Ethyl (Sloan) Doughty and graduated from Deering High School.
For many years, Phoebe worked in various roles at GTE Sylvania in Standish and retired as an inspector.
She involved in the Hollis PTA for many years and will always be remembered for the enjoyment she had knitting, baking and her love of her cats and family.
She is predeceased by beloved husband Arthur “Lyall” Stewart Jr.; infant son- James; and siblings- Harold “Bud” Doughty, Ethelyn Eldridge, Dolores Derrah, Malcolm Doughty, and James Doughty.
Phoebe is survived by children- Paula Stewart of Portland, Arthur Stewart and wife Karen of York, Stephanie Deshaies and husband Mark of Standish, and Craig Stewart of Steep Falls; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be private at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel in Buxton. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park
