AUBURN- Walter J. Lemieux, Jr., passed away peacefully at home with his loving family on Thursday, March 8, 2018. He was 75.
Walter was born in Worcester on October 11, 1942, a son of the late Walter (John) and Ruth (Barrett) Lemieux. He graduated from Burncoat High School and in 1962 he began a career that would span over 45 years at R&R Plumbing Supply Corporation.
Throughout the years, he and his family enjoyed traveling to Maine together. Around his home, Walter kept busy by tending to his yard and spending time with his dogs. Later in his life, he would be blessed with 6 grandchildren whom he adored and cherished spending time with.
Left to remember all of the memories that they made are his wife of 51 years, Mary A. (Granlund) Lemieux; his loving children, Donald J. Lemieux and his wife, Linda of Upton, Christine M. Hesemeyer and her husband, Kreg of Northborough and Stephen W. Lemieux and his wife, Meredith of Oxford; his six grandchildren, Audrey and John Lemieux, Lauren and Kyle Hesemeyer and Stephanie and Stephen (Stevie) Lemieux; three sisters, Joyce Lynch and her husband, Bruce, of Leominster, Ruth Johnson and her husband, George, of Florida, Paula Keating and her husband, Brian, of New York and Robert Lemieux of Alabama; many nieces, nephews and extended family members including his dog, Xander. A brother, Donald Lemieux, predeceased him.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Doctor Gary Blanchard and his assistants, Ashley and Nancy as well as Doctor Richard Wholey for their wonderful care and support. They also wish to thank the Auburn Fire Department and first responders for their assistance over the years with Walter.
