Timothy G. McCarthy, age 57 of Norton, formerly of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, at home on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Born in Dorchester, MA on November 2, 1960, he was a loving son of Mary A. (Madden) McCarthy of Brockton and the late Jeremiah J. McCarthy.

Tim grew up in Brockton and was a 1978 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School. He was a resident of Norton for the past eighteen years and successfully established Alberto’s Pub & Pizza, a Norton landmark which he owned and personally operated for over twenty years.

Tim was well known in Norton and surrounding communities for his heart of gold and charitable nature. He supported events too numerous to name, but his greatest goal was youth organizations.

Tim’s family and friends were the focal point of his life. He was extremely proud of his Irish Heritage and treasured times spent in Ireland. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and a member of the Norton Lions Club.

In addition to his mother, he was the dear and devoted brother of Sheila A. MacPherson and her husband James of Braintree, Maureen F. Ayisumo and her husband Bubba of Abington, Patricia M. McCarthy and her husband Brian of Winchester and Jamie M. McCarthy of Brockton. He was the proud uncle of Jade, Matthew, Sean, Caroline, Dorothy and Jeremiah, who he truly adored. He is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, exceptional friends and loyal employees.

His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on WEDNESDAY, March 14th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Interment will take place at a later date in Ireland.

Visiting hours will be held on MONDAY, March 12th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
