William H. Santoro, 82, died Friday, March 2nd, 2018, in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was the devoted husband of Rita J. (Gelardi) Santoro. They had been married for fifty-eight years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Maria (Rossi) Santoro. He owned and operated J. Santoro Sand and Gravel, Inc. until his retirement. While retired, he owned Business Secretarial Services and worked as a real estate developer. He had been a member of the Atlantis Country Club in Atlantis, Florida.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three children, Susan M. Bennett and her husband Noel of North Providence, William H. Santoro, Jr. and his wife Doreen of Greenville, and Lisa A. Gomes of North Providence, as well as his four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Santoro, Nicholas Bennett and Haley Gomes. He is predeceased by siblings, Ernest Santoro, Emily Santangelo, Eva Bergantini, Julia Silvestri, Joseph Santoro, Jr., and Elena Galuppi.
Funeral Monday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation Sunday 3-6pm.
