Ronnie W. Burnette, 67, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. David Ash and Sheldon Conger officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery, in Wilcox County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Burnette was born August 21, 1950, in Abbeville, Georgia, to the late Lonnie Burnette & Thelma Marie Keen Burnette Johnson. He lived in the community most of his life and was a truck driver for Ben Hill County road department. Mr. Burnette also pastored Anderson Memorial Baptist Church for ten years. He loved going to McDonald’s visiting with friends and was an avid Hurricane and Georgia Bulldog fan. Mr. Burnette was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: Donnie Burnette & Maxine of Fitzgerald, Jason Burnette of Fitzgerald, David Burnette & Melinda of Ray City and Jennifer Burnette of Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Gary Burnette & Traci of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews along with a special friend, Shirley Fowler also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Burnette and a sister, Connie Burnette
