Willine P. Young, 90, of Wray, Georgia, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018, at New Bethel Holiness Baptist Church, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with the Rev. Larry Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Young was born September 1, 1927, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Earnest & Nollie Wooten Pridgen. She lived in the community all of her life. She was a former seamstress for Y & W Sportswear, drove an escort for mobile homes and was office manager for Morgan Drive Away. Mrs. Young enjoyed fishing, crocheting and tending to the cows. She was also an avid Braves fan. Mrs. Young was a member of New Bethel Holiness Baptist Church.
She is survived by her two sons: Melvin Eugene & Beth Young of Tifton and Donald Leon Young of Wray; a daughter, Janet Murieline Young McCrimmon of Wray; grandchildren: Crystal & Mitchell Bostick, Edith Ann Evans, Hannah Young and Richard Young; a step-granddaughter, Alicia Cox; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Lois Young of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Young, a step-grandson, four brothers, three sisters and an infant sibling.
